AUSTIN FARR
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER | CREATIVE VISUALIZER
I’ve always believed that architecture is where the logic of space meets the complexity of human emotion. I see buildings as the essential backdrop for human life; spaces that have the power to fundamentally shift someone’s mood, mental well-being, and daily happiness.
My approach to design is rooted in a deep curiosity about how people interact with their environment. I’m fascinated by the "why" behind the space; why a certain light-filled atrium makes us feel at peace, or how a kinetic facade can turn a routine commute into a moment of wonder. For me, architecture is the ultimate synthesis of my passion for art and my desire to create work that genuinely helps people feel better in their surroundings.
As a designer, I am a maker first. I love interesting programs, concepts and unconventional challenges, whether I’m iterating on a unique facade or figuring out how to insert a public bathhouse into the NYC subway network. I use Revit and Twinmotion not just to document and create BIM projects, but to explore and iterate; creating visualizations that allow clients to feel the project long before it’s built.
THE TECHNICAL FOUNDATION
While my heart is in the design and the "wow" factor, I have spent the last four years building a rigorous technical foundation. I’ve managed the technical lifecycle of $1.7 billion international master campuses, collaborated with others on 12 educational facilities and led the rollout of 30+ retail stores annually. Currently, I’m 50% of the way through the NCARB Architecture Registration Examination (ARE), ensuring that my creative ideas are always backed by the technical grit required to actually get them built.
THE HUMAN ELEMENT
The best designers are often the most curious people in the room. When I’m not at work, I’m likely home watching movies, planning long cross country road trips; I've driven from Charlotte to the White Sands of New Mexico and up to the coast of Quebec, finding inspiration in the shifting landscapes and choreography of different cities.
I’m also a dancer, a gamer, and a tech enthusiast. Whether I'm building out a home server, exploring the advancements of AI technology, or exploring the in-depth world and space of a video game, I’m constantly looking for ways to blend technology, creativity, and movement. I bring that same steady, conscientious energy to every project I touch.
I am looking to join a New York-based firm that cares deeply about the emotional impact of their work.
I don't just design buildings; I design the experiences that happen inside them.
Let’s make something interesting.
